Warehouse mode

Warehouse mode in the Dropium app

The driver’s own app, in its sorting centre mode: sorting, first mile and returns, on handheld terminals, phones and browsers. Operations only.

Who uses it

Sorting centre operators. They do not install another app: they open Dropium and enter Warehouse mode if their account has warehouse permission. The menu is filtered by each operator’s permissions, so each one sees only what they can do.

The three axes

Sorting

Boxes, lines, orders and routes of the last-mile flow. Opening and closing boxes, bulk state changes and assignment to a line or route.

First mile

From dock to truck: goods intake, filling with anti-mix control and box sealing. Dispatch is a handover with a record — open, sealed or failed — with up to 6 kinds of evidence and a delivery note issued only once, as PDF, XLSX or CSV, carrying the fingerprint of its annex.

Returns

The return comes in at the dock, is sorted into the cage of its consolidation point, and the cage waits in the parking area. It leaves in one of two ways: with the driver running the return route, or with the person from the point who comes to collect it.

The 4 custody handovers

Every time goods change hands, the operator opens a record, adds the evidence — trailer, plate, seal, signature, damage or other — and seals it. If the handover fails, the record says so and nothing leaves.

To another carrier

The goods leave your custody. What was handed over is reconciled against what the receiving carrier confirms.

Between warehouses

The parcel is still yours and travels in transit. It does not count as ready for delivery until the destination warehouse receives it.

To the consolidation point

The person from the point collects their returns cage at the dock and signs. The return is closed there and then.

To the return driver

A driver loads the returns cages and signs. The return is closed when they hand them over at the point.

Hardware scanner or camera, either way

The fast route is the handheld’s scanner, which the system treats as a keyboard. But any phone or browser can scan with the camera. It exists for a practical reason: a broken scanner or a workload spike cannot stop the warehouse.

In the browser too

The Dropium app runs on Android, iOS and in a browser. In a warehouse whose network is restricted to the API, being able to open it from any machine avoids depending on the terminal fleet.

We don’t publish screenshots of the interface. If you want to see it working, we’ll show you in a demo.

Frequently asked questions

Is it a separate app?

No. It is the Dropium app, the same one the driver uses. Whoever has warehouse permission sees Warehouse mode; whoever has a driver profile sees Delivery mode; and whoever has both can switch between them.

What is anti-mix filling?

When filling a box, the app checks that the scanned parcel belongs in that box and rejects it if not. It prevents the most expensive warehouse mistake: discovering the mix-up when the box is already sealed and on the truck.

Does it work if the warehouse network goes down?

Yes. Warehouse operations queue on the device, in their own visible queue kept apart from the delivery one, and sync when the connection returns.

Do we need to buy specific handhelds?

No. The Dropium app works with any Android handheld with a scanner, with phones using the camera, and from a browser.

Shall we see whether it fits your operation?

A thirty-minute demo on your own flow: first mile, sorting, delivery or returns.
